The Best Nightclubs in Philadelphia

The Best Nightclubs in Philadelphia

In honor of the “Made In America Festival” this past weekend, we’ve decided to highlight some of the best clubs in the historic city of Philadelphia.

From great photo opps and ’80s music to a ball pit and waterside cocktails (and dancing), all MonkeyStuff team members wholeheartedly agree: Philly’s got it all.

The Dolphin Tavern

Woody's

Voyeur

Brasil's Nightclub

The Trestle Inn

Concourse Dance Bar

Morgan's Pier

Read on to learn more about some of our favorite nightlife spots (in no particular order).

The Dolphin Tavern

Head to South Philly for the young crowd and great photo-opps at The Dolphin Tavern. They have theme nights for everyone, including karaoke, ’80 and ’90s throwbacks, and drag shows. The Dolphin is known for their DJs and collabs, so enjoy the atmosphere and a cheap $5 cover.

Woody’s

Perhaps the city’s most popular club in the Gayborhood section, Woody’s is two floors and five rooms of music and dancing. The bartenders don’t skimp on the alcohol and you never have to wait too long to get served. A nightlife staple for over 35 years now, this club is welcoming to all who just want to have fun!

Voyeur

Just a short walk from Woody’s (we’re talking less than a minute, seriously) is Voyeur. If you’re looking for an intense night of dancing and light shows, this is the place to go. With three levels in this large, open space, everywhere you go feels like the VIP section. Come here on one of their themed nights or experience one of their drag shows. As a bonus, they’re open until after 3 a.m.!

The Trestle Inn

A two-room speakeasy-style dance club and bar, this is the place to go if you want something different. We’ll let this Yelp review tell the rest: “When you walk in to The Trestle Inn, you are transported to the ’60s. Lively music and go go dancers in the bar area and the dance area. The drinks are strong, so it is well worth the price.”

Brasil’s Nightclub

If you’re looking for an authentic Latin night out, Brasil’s is one of the best places to go in Philadelphia. Get there early on a Wednesday, Friday, or Saturday and you could catch one of their free salsa lessons! Dedicated patrons also rave about their drinks and low-price entry.

Concourse Dance Bar

This underground club is known for its spacious dance floor and ball pit. You heard that right—Concourse Dance Bar has a slide that leads right into a ball pit. Your childhood dreams meet your adulthood for a night of fun, music, and A LOT of dancing.

Morgan’s Pier

Not strictly a club, Morgan’s Pier made it on our list because it’s a delicious, affordable restaurant on the water during the day, and it turns into a party at night. If you’re looking for a dance club feel while you enjoy the summer weather, this is the place to go. Tip: order the frozen margarita and try to stop at just one.

If you’re a Philly native or have visited these spots in the City of Brotherly Love, let us know how you enjoyed these spots and if we’re missing any of your favorites!
