Oct 11 Enjoying Denver’s Top-Rated Nightlife
Denver has had a resurgence in recent years, no longer a sleepy city that rolls up the sidewalks before dinner.
Downtown neighborhoods offer different vibes so there is something for everyone in terms of nightlife.
LoDo, Uptown, Highlands, Larimer Square, Dairy Block, SoCo, RiNo, North Quadrant, Golden Triangle … all boast the best restaurants, bars, and clubs proving Denver has got it going on across all areas, genres, and tastes!
Here are some of our faves. …
The SoCo Nightlife District hosts Club Vinyl, The Church Nightclub, Bar Standard, and Milk each with their own vibe, music, and music. Bounce from one to another or get tickets to a special event. No matter what you choose, you won’t be disappointed with the variety and quality of the nightlife on Broadway south of Colfax!
For a hip, upscale evening, head to 54Thirty Rooftop for panoramic views, mingling, and creative cocktails. It’s especially perfect for watching the sunset or stopping by after dinner for a nightcap. You’ll appreciate all the area has to offer – from mountain views to urban lights – from high over the mile-high city. The rooftop is seasonal so be sure to make sure it’s open before committing!
The Highlands is home to Occidental Bar which embraces its low key and unpretentious reputation fully. It’s a great place to catch the game (all sports!), grab a burger, and have a craft beer or two. The bartenders know their trade and you will feel at home in the chill environment with an expansive drink menu.
If you want a taste of Denver’s roots, then the Grizzley Rose in North Denver is the place to go. Since 1989 it has been home to the city’s western roots, hosting concerts and events on its massive dance floor. Try your skills on the mechanical bull or just come to dance and enjoy the music!
Ever been to a genuine speakeasy? Head Uptown to Retrograde and find the entrance behind the freezer door of the in-business ice cream shop. Truth. Inside it invites you to linger and watch whatever is showing on the big screen while sipping signature cocktails or enjoying a beer. The bartenders pride themselves on creating the perfect drink for you!
Serious about your Latin dancing? Or maybe you want to learn how? Go to the Golden Triangle and to La Rumba where you can do both. This club immediately transports you and you feel far as though you’re somewhere exotic. Whether you want to dance all night or enjoy the spicy music and great drinks, this 21-and-over club is a must go!
In LoDo (Lower Downtown), you will find Corridor 44, an upscale bar and restaurant that draws hip singles who want a quieter place to meet, mingle and chill. If you and your friends are feeling fancy, then the champagne and small plates are the perfect accompaniment to an elegant evening in Denver.
If you haven’t given Denver a chance lately, it’s time to head downtown.
